PRESIDENT
Stacy Nichols
I own and operate Sunlit Farm Training Services in Pinon Hills and have been located in the High Desert since 2001, moving up from Chino Hills.

My love and devotion to horses began very early, I was riding before I could walk as well as competing at horse shows in the early 1970s. First as a Leadline participant before graduating to Walk/Trot and by the mid-1970s
I was competing regularly.

I ultimately began accepting horses to train professionally in 1979. Since that time I have competed on many circuits and still maintain a presence in the show ring, even though I also love to trail ride. Previously a member of ETI Corral 43 in Riverside, I am proud to be involved once again in ETI through Corral 88 as an advocate for horses and maintaining the equestrian way of life.

TREASURER/Membership
Christy Calkins

Hey Ya’ll!  I moved to Phelan with my family in the fall of 2009. Having been a resident of the Antelope Valley for 20 years, we now call the Victor Valley home. I have had the pleasure of meeting many great folk thru ETI as a “Member At Large” for many years while participating in Trail Trials and the ETI High Point Show series. Now that we have a local Corral to join, I am jumping head first into helping to make Corral 88 a vibrant, active and friendly Corral for our members.
I have several years experience being on the Board of the Southern Kern Roping and Riding Club in Rosamond, CA in all positions and I bring my organization and planning skills to
Corral 88.

My husband and I enjoy spending time camping with our horses and scouting out new places to ride on this side of the county line. We also enjoy working cattle either Team Sorting or Ranch Roping, it doesn’t matter to us as long as we get to have fun with our horses.

I look forward to 2012 and meeting more ETI family members, please join us in having a 2012 we can look back on and say “WOW that was a great year!”

SECRETARY Tammy Stevenson

Hello everyone! Let me introduce myself, I live in Phelan, Ca and am  currently a full time Mother and part time candle maker.  I currently own 3 horses, 7 chickens, 1 goose, 3 dogs, and 3 cats.  Horses have always been a large part of my family.

Pleasure trail riding is first and foremost.  But, for many years fun times were found Team Penning at Southern Kern Roping and Riding Club in Rosamond.  While riding there I have won a buckle for fastest time competing in “One on One”, spent many nights in the announcer’s booth, and worked side by side with Christy Calkins volunteering to get done whatever was needed.

My family and I are active members of the Dusty Spurs gymkhana club in Phelan.  At the present time I proudly display a high point trophy and many ribbons that I have won competing at this gymkhana.

I am excited to step into the Secretarial position on Corral 88’s board and am hoping you will find my enthusiasm contagious.  Though I have never actually worked as a Board Secretary before, I have had many years as an active horse woman and have worked the front office at a vet hospital for 3 years.  I thank you all for your warm welcome and I look forward to riding with you all.

AT LARGE/Web Master Alberta Hale Crigler

Hey there! I bought my property in Pinon Hills in 2003 and began developing Rancho Indulto at that time. Before that I had a small horse property in north El Monte, just next to Arcadia. I moved onto the ranch full time in 2006. I had a career in journalism for 17 years prior to the move. Before that, I managed a 175-horse boarding stable, and then did a long stint in the Thoroughbred racing industry. I started as a pony rider, then worked for the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association as librarian. From there I moved on to work for Clover Racing Stables as office manager and Stable Agent, where I worked with top-notch racehorses, and trainers including John Sadler, Eddie Gregson, Neil Drysdale and others. Subsequently I was a handicapper and Racing Editor for the Pasadena Star-News and then the San Gabriel Valley Newspapers.  My two passions in my riding career are dressage and reining, and I've shown in both disciplines.

I've worked with Corral 88 since its inception, and I'm really looking forward to what I think will be a new, energized board and a successful 2012.

AT LARGE Gater Eby

I am a lifelong horsewoman who grew up in Orange County, and owned Collins Ranch and Blue Fox Farm in Riverside County before moving to the high desert. In 1989, Eby Ranch was opened in Baldy Mesa as breeding farm; standing Paulo Dell (APHA Champion),  Vandy's Gotta Go (AQHA) and the stakes sire Formula One (TB). Years ago, I was the California AQPA breed inspector and was employed as a graphic designer and writer for Pacific West Paints magazine and Horse Buyers Guide. I am a past president of the Pacific Coast Quarter Pony Association, the Perris Valley Horseman's Association, was a charter board member of the Temecula Valley Paint Horse Club, and served as a state CCC representative.  Prior to being a 4-H horse leader in the high desert for the High Desert Hawks I had a 4-H horse group in Riverside County. I coached the Serrano High School FFA  horse judging team for two years.  I have been out of the equestrian industry for 10 years due to health challenges, but I moved back to our ranch in October 2011. I am a member of AQHA, AHA and a life member of the AMHA. My interest in ETI and our local horse community is networking with other horse enthusiasts, having fun and a desire to get back into riding after many years out of the saddle. My background and strengths are in club promotion, fund raising and horse show operations, having chaired many, including a successful national breed show in 1981.  I'm looking forward to a productive and fun year involved with ETI Corral 88.
